Do you know the busiest holiday for florists? I bet many of you immediately thought “Valentine’s Day”. Well, you would be wrong – it's Mother’s Day! And what better time than spring to celebrate the moms in our lives.
You may be planning to send flowers, or perhaps you have your own traditions, but whatever you do, be thankful for the woman, or women, who helped shape your personality.
My mom taught me how to be strong and stand up for myself. She also taught me that I can do anything I set my mind to, basically if I can dream it, I can achieve it. I am so thankful for those lessons. Because of her attitude, my sisters and I grew up to be strong, opinionated, caring women, who are always willing to make our own path when it suits us.
My mom looks and acts at least a decade younger than her 81 years, but I know it's time to start thinking about how to keep her independent as long as possible. I know there are steps we can take now to ensure she is safe and comfortable at home for many years to come.
I am sure you all feel the same. You take the steps needed to make sure your mom is safe and comfortable. But what about all the moms out there who don’t have someone watching over them?
That’s where Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun steps in. Our free fall prevention services ensure all the moms (and dads, aunts, uncles, etc...) in the Phoenix metro area can remain safely independent at home for as long as possible.
And you help us through your donations and by volunteering your time and talents to serve those in need. Thank you!
And since we are honoring moms, wouldn’t it be a lovely idea to give a gift in her honor to help someone else’s mom? Or perhaps you make a commitment to join Rebuilding Together’s Safe at Home team to volunteer one morning a week.
Consider joining us in honor of your mom. She will be so proud. And your heart will sing each time you see the smile of a person whose life you have made better because you are willing to share a little time.
Happy Mother’s Day
