The health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and the homeowners we serve is our top priority at Rebuilding Together Valley of the Sun. As such, we are carefully monitoring the news around COVID-19, or the coronavirus. At this time we will complete some spring projects that are on the books. Additionally, we’d like to take this opportunity to share that earlier in the month the decision was made to postpone the April National Rebuilding Day event until the fall.
We are following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to insure the health and safety of our volunteers, staff, and homeowners. We will keep you apprised should any changes be necessary.
For the most up to date information on COVID-19, including best practices for avoiding infection, please visit the official websites of the CDC, WHO, and the AZ Department of Health.

I am writing to Thank you and the two volunteers who installed my safety equipment and ramp last week..
Retrofitting my shower/tub and commodes with grab bars, new shower head, bath mat, and shower chair was wonderful. Yesterday I was able to take my first shower without the fear of falling. I can't describe the joy I felt in knowing that I was safe and could now take a shower daily without having to require supervision. I felt very independent.
Again now having the ramp ensures an egress is available in and out of the house, such independence and I no longer feel like a captive in my own home.
I am 67 years old on oxygen 24/7 and have numerous health issues. I worked for 31 1/2 years and retired 18 years ago. I never thought that I would be as limited in my own home as I had become until the retrofitting.
With your help I'm not afraid of falling and can come and go in my wheelchair or use my walker to come and go with such a feeling of independence.
Again, thank you for your help and I would like to remind you that each time you help someone like me another star in heaven shines brighter.
